Structured Problem Solving and Decision Making

 

Description

"If you always do what you always do, you always get what you always get." This program will introduce you to a structured problem solving process that can be applied on the job immediately.

 

Objectives

At the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

•  Identify and define a problem;

•  Practice multiple approaches to determining causes;
•  Practice multiple approaches to develop possible solutions; and

•  Practice techniques to select and recommend the best or most

   acceptable solution to a problem.

            Brainstorming; Nominal Group Technique; Idea Writing

            Charts and Graphs

Course Length

•  8—16 hours, depending on activities selected.  May also be delivered in four separate workshops of four hours each (breaking the four steps into four workshops), since each objective corresponds to one of the four steps of the structured problem solving process.
